The purpose of this department is to train and assess the individual consumers for potential growth and advancement to a manufacturing environment or supportive employment, etc. Compaines provide us the contract (packaging/sorting) that we produce at the base program. The consumers are paid through the token economy (as a positive reinforcement) and not for productivity. As advancement is achieved, we will then recommend referral to supported employment. Remembering the basis of the token economy money is based on improving behaviors, not on productivity.
