Since our inception, the B.O.T. has always had Community Volunteer Activities. These activities include but are not limited to:
* Meals-on-Wheels
* Workshop Transition
* Churches
* Animal Shelter
* Mechanic Shop
* Animal Maintenance at “Child Help”
* Janitorial
* Landscape Maintenance
This training and experiences teaches the consumers to feel that they have a purpose in society and they have a meaningful contribution to society. The consumers who participate, receives positive reinforcement money for their participation (based on positive behaviors) . This occurs every other Friday. On those days they can choose to go on outings and spend their money on fast food lunches, Dollar Stores, Thrift Stores, etc. They also have a choice of NOT spending the money and instead taking it home to do with it as they wish!
The program also schedules regular outings for all consumers. Examples of that would be “Special Olympics”, Riverside Chamber of Commerce fashion show, San Bernadina Museum, Perris Train Museum, etc.
